Deadlock victim in the UI

For our database I have PowerShell scripts that automate updating tables with data it is pulling from other sources and applications. These mainly run overnight, but sometimes run over into the morning. What happens occasionally in this scenario is when browsing and reading records in the UI we might get an error that the data can't be retrieved because the transaction was deadlocked.

How can I change the deadlock priority of browsing and reading records in the UI so that it takes priority over the script updating fields? Or, if that can't be changed what is the default deadlock priority of a browse/read via the UI? Perhaps I can change the priority on the scripts? There are multiple scripts that run and there is logic built within them to detect deadlocks between them and retry, so if a record is being read and is set to a higher priority the script will retry that record again until successful and not fail.

Thoughts?

I want to rename the database I'm using in dbfront, is that going to mess up the way it is displayed and the settings I have for it in the application?

Hi was just wondering. I am attempting to connect to a database on my hosting. It is MySQL on a cpanel. If and when I do. Do I then upload the database files to the server. Not quite sure how it all works but really keen to get it going.

Restrict available tables to specified schemas

For our purposes we're using dbfront to populate some tables in a 'config' schema. A series of stored procedures are then executed which generate new tables in our 'production' schema.

Because of how we use dbfront, we only want to be editing the 'config' schema. Whilst we can hide objects in the 'production' schema using the interface, this schema is rapidly changing and it would be nice if we could tell dbfront to ignore / use specific schema to make it a little more manageable.

Can you please add the ability to ignore certain schemas?
