Table-view record truncation

I noticed that when a column is set as a Sticky Column, the data can get truncated with an ellipsis if it's too long (unknown what the parameters are, but it appears to be more aggressive than non-sticky column truncation)
E.g.:

This presents a problem in Table-only layout, where there's no form to see the full data.
If a record is truncated, it would be nice to have a way to show the full data in a tooltip or something.
