Can't Login: An error (1789) occurred while enumerating the group membership. The member's SID could not be resolved.

Question

When a user attempts to login to dbFront they get the error message:

An error (1789) occurred while enumerating the group membership.
The member's SID could not be resolved.

If you look in the logs you see:

Invalid authentication settings,  
An error (1789) occurred while enumerating the group membership.  
The member's SID could not be resolved.

dbFront can be set up to check if a user is a member of specific groups.

It appears that either the current user you are attempting to login with or the group has errors.

You can try a different user or a different group. You can also disable the use of network groups entirely.
