Option to add new lookup record from dropdown

Question

I have a version table that is linked to a request table that allows the user to select the version a request was added to. I want to know if there is a way, from the drop down in the request form that shows the version, to add a new version number without having to go to the version table in the lookup tables to add it first. I hope that makes sense.

Hello Karin, this request currently matches an existing feature request.

The current solution is to right-click on the "Go To" / "Maximize" icon right beside the lookup and it will open that table in a new window. Users can then close it when they are done.
